e-Governance Conference and a visit to Tartu University
In May 2024, representatives of the Dnipro University of Technology had the opportunity to participate in academic mobility under the project "E-democracy and Innovative Governance in Dnipro Region: Cooperation Models and Resilience of Society" (Estonia, Tallinn, Tartu). The delegation included representatives from the academic community, eDnipro, Local Government bodies, and Civil Society Snstitutions from Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv regions. Specifically, the delegation from Dnipro University of Technology included: Sofiia Olishievska, Liudmyla Shportko, Anastasiia Lapko, Serhii Kvіtka, Nataliia Honcharuk, Tetiana Mamatova, Maryna Pashkevych, Olesia Cherkashchenko, and Nataliia Nechai.
On May 20-21, in Tallinn, the participants held a series of meetings with representatives of Civil Society, officials from the Tallinn City Government, and experts. They discussed best practices in Digital Governance, Digital Democracy, and |Innovative Management in Estonia. Among the speakers were Daria Rovba, a representative of Estonian Civil Society, Oleksii Yasin, the deputy mayor of Tallinn, Aado Altmets, the head of the External Projects Office of the Tallinn Strategic Management Office, and Dmytro Burnašev, the deputy director of strategy at the Estonian Government Office. An additional meeting took place at the e-Estonia Briefing Center, where the delegation familiarized themselves with innovative solutions and projects in the field of digital governance. On May 22-23, representatives of Dnipro University of Technology participated in the tenth annual e-Governance Conference, where they learned about Estonia's experience in implementing e-governance, which is a strategic choice to enhance national competitiveness and citizen welfare through uninterrupted government operation, supported by digital identity, secure data exchange, high-quality databases, transparent ICT use in governance, online services, citizen involvement, and strict personal data protection. Also, on May 23, the delegation visited the "Joy of Discovery" scientific event at the AHHAA Science Center, the largest science education center in Estonia, where they had the opportunity to explore science in a game form, popularize the scientific approach, and increase public interest in scientific achievements.
A highlight of the visit was the tour of the University of Tartu, where they were able to learn about the university's wide range of achievements and prospects for cooperation in various fields. The university confidently presented its achievements and plans for future development, particularly in the areas of information technology, engineering, environmental research, digital management, and digital democracy.
During the visit, the Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity to receive a historical overview of the university from Anna Baranets, which allowed a better understanding of the roots and development of this prominent educational institution. The presentation and consolidation of the visit by the Ukrainian Center of the University of Tartu (UTUC), conducted by Dmytro Khutkyi, reflected the university's desire to expand its international relations and cooperation. Kristina Tonnisson presented the activities of the Skytte Institute, emphasizing its importance in the context of cooperation between Dnipro University of Technology and the University of Tartu. Anna Beitane highlighted the opportunities for e-learning, while Viktoria Biliaieva discussed grant management and management issues. A special focus was on discussing potential joint international projects, including research, academic exchanges, and educational programs between institutions. Key areas of cooperation have been identified and open up numerous opportunities for joint achievements. The visit concluded with a sense of excitement and optimism about further cooperation with the University of Tartu. |
